You can adjust the video quality of the content you download but content that is streamed or watched on-demand, will play in the highest definition your device can support.
Downloads
You can change the video quality of the content you download, this will affect the time your download takes to complete and the storage space it needs. You can change this using the steps below:
- From the Home Screen, tap your Character in the top right corner (for iOS) or the menu icon in the top left corner (for Android).
- Tap Settings (Cog icon).
- Tap Device Settings.
- See Download Quality under Download Settings.
- Select ‘Better’ to download content in a higher quality. Note: this option will take a longer time to download and will use more device storage.
- Select ‘Good’ to download content in a lower quality. Note: this option will take a shorter time to download but will use less device storage.
Streaming content
DisneyLife will automatically adjust to give you the highest definition possible. Keep in mind a few things can affect the quality of the display of movies and TV shows streamed: your device, your location, the bandwidth available through and/or speed of your internet connection.
For the live TV channels, the images may appear a bit pixelated at first, but they will adjust on their own a few seconds after streaming starts. Live TV channels will stream in SD.
Watching in HD
DisneyLife offers HD streaming for most titles. HD availability is subject to your internet service and device capabilities.
Default playback settings on mobile networks exclude HD content.
Please check with your manufacturer or owner's manual if you're unsure if your device supports HD.
